This Privacy Policy describes how INFINITY CONVERGENCE S.A.S. DE C.V. ("we", "Infinity Convergence") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of users of the PETO-ID mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this document.
1. Information We Collect
To operate the App, we collect the following types of information:
1.1 Account Information (Owner)
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Password (stored using secure hashing, never in plain text)
1.2 Pet Information
- Name, breed, color, date of birth, sex, size, weight
- Microchip number (optional)
- Veterinary records you choose to enter: vaccinations, vet visits, sterilization, deworming
- Assigned veterinarian (optional)
1.3 Canine Biometric Data
PETO-ID uses the dog's nose print as a unique biometric identifier. When you capture a pet's biometric ID, the App processes a burst of nose photos through a computer vision model (Ultralytics YOLOn) that extracts unique mathematical representations ("embeddings") for each pet.
Important: biometric data belongs to the animal, not to an identified person. Nevertheless, we treat it with the same level of protection as sensitive personal data.
1.4 Location Information
The App accesses the device's location only when:
- You report a pet as lost (to generate a geolocated alert)
- Another user reports having seen a lost pet (sighting)
We do not track your location continuously or in the background.
1.5 Camera Access
The App requests access to the camera to capture nose photos during biometric registration and to take profile photos. Images are processed on our servers and stored associated with the corresponding pet.
1.6 Technical Information
- JWT authentication tokens (session)
- IP address (server logs only, for diagnostics and security)
- App and operating system version
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect exclusively for the following purposes:
- Enable account registration and authentication
- Uniquely identify pets through nasal biometrics
- Generate QR codes with owner contact information for collars
- Enable lost-pet reports and community sightings
- Store the veterinary history you choose to record
- Respond to support inquiries you send us
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it to third parties, and we do not share it with advertisers.
3. Storage and Service Providers
PETO-ID uses the following technology providers to operate:
- Google Cloud Platform (Google LLC): hosts the App's backend (Cloud Run), images, and biometric processing. Data resides in the us-central1 region.
- Supabase (Supabase Inc.): PostgreSQL database where accounts, pets, veterinary history, and biometric embeddings are stored.
These providers act as data processors under our instructions and are subject to their own security and privacy policies.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account remains active. When you delete a pet from the App, we mark it as deleted and it no longer appears in your listings; we retain the associated biometric data for up to 90 days for technical reasons before permanently deleting it, unless you request immediate deletion by writing to our contact email.
If you request account deletion, we will delete all associated personal data within a maximum of 30 days, except for data we are required to retain by legal obligation.
5. Your Rights
As a PETO-ID user, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export a copy of your data in a readable format
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- File a complaint with a data protection authority in your jurisdiction

6. Security
We implement the following technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- End-to-end encrypted communication between the App and the server (HTTPS / TLS)
- Passwords stored using secure hashing algorithms (never in plain text)
- Authentication tokens with expiration and per-request validation
- Restricted database access following the principle of least privilege
- Ownership validation: a user can only delete or modify pets that belong to them
Nevertheless, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. If we detect a security breach affecting personal data, we will notify affected users within the timeframes required by applicable law.
7. Children's Privacy
PETO-ID is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental verification, we will delete it as soon as possible.
8. International Data Transfers
The servers hosting your data are located in the United States (Google Cloud and Supabase). By using the App, you agree that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions different from your own, subject to the protections described in this policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
